They call themselves "rumînj" and speak "rumînjeshte", vlach is an exonym which (some) use when speaking in Serbian. And they speak proper Romanian in the subdialects(graj) of the bordering provinces of (Romanian) Banat and Oltenia(Lower Wallachia).

The only reason the 'Vlach' identity exists is because the Serbian state tries to separate the Romanians in Vojvodina from the ones in Timok.

Saying a 'Vlach' from Timok is different from a Romanian is the same as saying that the 'Shqiptars' in Kosovo are different from Albanians.
