Always loved Detroit's flag

It represents St. Hallvard, the patron saint of Oslo.

He was born into nobliity in the year 1020, but was killed trying to save a young woman from getting raped.
In his left hand, he is holding the three arrows he was shot with.
In his right hand, he is holding the mill stone that was used by his killers to sink his body into the Oslo fjord.
The blue backround displayes the bottom of the fjord.
And the woman at the bottom is of course the woman he saved.

I don't like that flag

I don't quite like our flag. I mean, it's okay, it looks kind of nice, but it doesn't have the kind of power and simplicity that I like of really good city flags like Chicago and DC. I tried designing a simple one once, and posted it on reddit's vexillology and Detroit pages, opinions were a bit divided.
