this
tho, my mom makes the best fucking lentils in the world
Never had that but I'll take it
I love spicy food
Lentils are only better when you make a soup from them. In ALL other cases peas > lentils.
The god tier way to make lentils(and beans for that matter) is to make soup first, then you put some oil, flour and paprika in a pan, you fry it for a few seconds and put in the soup
delicious
Chickpeas > peas > lentils. Won't rank beans because I can't eat them.
Do Brazilians eat raw onions?
Nigger I love chili con carne and eat it as many times as I can. As a result my anus is now 100% scar tissue and the acidity of my farts and shit are a scientific wonder. I am in pain every single day.
>acidity of my farts and shit are a scientific wonder
h-hawt
BAKED BEANS ON TOAST MATE
Gotta love me some tacu tacu. Still technically beans, I guess?
Brazil: Feijoada
Venezuela: Pabellon Criollo
Colombia: Bandeja Paisa
Our national dishes are the same with slight differences
>look up a recipe
>15 thousand ingredients, herbs, breadcrumbs, five different cuts of meats, tomatoes, beans, every fucking mirepoix shit
FUCK that shit, it's a goddamn casserole kys frogs
Why do sudacas love beans so much when we barely eat them here? Who did you take that shit from?
>here
Where? Barrio Salamanca?
I eat rice and beans most weeks desu.
>most weeks
Disgusting. But that wasn't my point, there's no strong national dish based of them. America also eats a shitload of beans but the brits do it too so it makes sense.
I fucking love beans.
Usually I get a can of baked beans and heat it together with another can of plain red kidney beans.
Also, stews require lentils. Lots of lentils.
>Usually I get a can of baked beans and heat it together with another can of plain red kidney beans
how poor are you?
I'm below the national poverty line, so I suppose I'm rather poor.
>europeans think that beans are for the poor.
>Brazil loves beans
I don't understand where you're going with this
m8. just learn to cook, dont eat fucking cants then
a kilo of beans is the same price of a fucking can
buy a carrot, 1 pepper, 1 tomato(or a can of shreder tomatoes if you are too lazy), some onion and garlic, boil everything together, and youll have way tastier bean meal that will last you for a few days
Mushy peas >>> everything else
Silk beans only
The shit that English people call beans is disgusting
>The shit that English people call beans is disgusting
They're just haricot beans in sauce.
Sounds pretty good. I'll try it.
Though a can of beans costs 0,19 Euros at Aldi so it's not like it matters much. Don't know what a kilo of dried beans costs though.
its literally lardons, confit de canard & toulouse sausage. it's not complicated. the whole point of french food is it's easy peasant food.
>mfw a typical burger recipe probably involves ketchup + bbq sauce + worcestershire sauce + sugar + onion powder + garlic powder etc.
cans, not cants kek*
>Though a can of beans costs 0,19 Euros
eh, still, you'll eat a home cocked meal that will taste way better than all the cans in the world
a kilo of beans is like ~euro here, but you gotta have in mind that this is shitloads of beans, you need like 300 grams or something, you can cook with it 3 times.
also, for best experience, when you boil all this together, put some oil, butter and paprika in a pan, fry it for like 30 seconds and put it with the rest
we are soybean races
>What is Fabada?
Asturian heritage m8
This actually makes sense.
I WANT MY BEAAAANS
>not eating espinaca con garbanzos at least once a week
Did you eat true feijoada? With all those pig parts?
Not him, but raw onions are common only as seasoning for salads. When main salad ingredient, they're usually scalded and seasoned with oregano; otherwise browned like usual.
The picture has raw onions and garlic just for the sake of "oh look veggies".
>Not him, but raw onions are common only as seasoning for
same
tho, my dad literally eats raw onions dipped in some salt
>my dad literally eats raw onions dipped in some salt
Not him, but I do the same now and them with salt and olive oil.
Northern Iberian cuisine in general uses lots of beans. Galicia has caldo gallego, feijoada is actually Portuguese, Asturians with their favada/fabada...
Weird. The only time I ever use raw onions is mashing them to mix with yogourt or avocado for bread spread.
Yes. Tofu, miso, soy source are made from soy beans. And Edamame is boiled young soy beans.
t. natto eater
"Fèves au lard" (also colloquially called "bines", a loanword from the English "bean"), which are made from haricot beans and cooked with copious amounts of lard, are probably one of the most common and traditional foods in Quebec.
i hate britbongs so god damn much
Beans are great.
I've heard some people in Quebec add maple syrup to the beans during the cooking proccess. It must be fucking delicious
Yup, during spring time maple syrup is a very common ingredient in this dish.
Most people seem to like it, though in general I'm not a huge fan of maple syrup so I prefer without maple syrup.
Bean soup is a normal Slovak dish.
we make bean-gulash
its just the farts
Kidney beans are my life
Is it true that soybeans destroys your sperm?
This looks like fattening as fuck. And delicious.
It is stealth marketing
Borracho beans are from South Texas and are a staple in Tex-Mex. My mouth is watering right now.
Reminder to put an onion in your beans while they're boiling to reduce the farting side effects.
Chicano here. I fucking love beans, bro. Beans are my wonder food.
i eat red beans and rice alot cause it's like 1.50 for a big box with all the spices and shit included
so yeah they're for poor people but still pretty tasty
>everyone posts good food and tasty recipies
>brits post the absolute dregs of their shit cuisine
We love beans
lentils are great thanks to India
Good job lads
We eat ours with mint sauce so its not the same
>boil
For the best results, beans must be cooked at low heat, at no more than a simmer, for hours and hours. Boiling will 1) make them fall apart and 2) burn them and make them stick to the pot.
depents on the type of beans
but you are right and wrong
yeah, sometimes, if you put beans directly and boil them they become mushy
but you cant put them in a bowl full of water from the night before, and then boil them
Making beans tomorrow.
Trying salt pork instead of ham hocks for flavor
>do people in your cunt eat beans?
rarely
Even if you only use garlic, onions, some salt and pepper it is delicious as a side dish. Garlic and onion make everything good.
Beans as Porotos con rienda are good as shit
Peas I like with stew
Lentils are good with grated cheese
Fuck, onions + palta + lemon is heavenly
