So, America seems to get more fearful, paranoid, racist, stupid, desparate, extreme, irrational and violent by the day. Is that just a perception filtered theough the media (which has its own agenda of sensationalism and/or political and social objectives) or is it true to life? Stuff happens there daily which is either non-existent or very rare in other developed countries and there is widespread belief in absolute horseshit like religion, angels, aliens etc. It really does seem to be swirling the plughole.

There will be areas of the USA which are great places to live - white arwas like New England, Oregon etc look great. But Jesus Christ, some of the big cities are starting to look like third-world warzones, in the black areas at least. The murder rate spiked last year. Is there an undeclared race war in progress?
