as far as the old Norwegian scene though, Emperor is still my favorite from that era:

as far as USBM goes I only really listen to Weakling and Leviathan myself, I feel like Europe has always had the stronger BM scene. this country was waaaaaaay more active in producing death metal than black metal.

the American death metal scene is second to none quite frankly (and only the Canadian one comes close, and that's just America 2.0 if you ask me).

Agreed, the only thing I have against American death metal is the excessive wankery, as in guitarists trying hard to outwank eachother with tricks and leaving little room for actual music shapes.
This is why I prefer the older Gothenburg/Swedish Metal scene.

Emperor was probably the band that really got me into BM (was more of a thrash and death guy before that). as far as metal goes, I started listening almost exclusively to BM after I discovered Emperor.

ITNE and Anthems will always hold a special place in my heart as a consequence (and I can even enjoy a good bit of Equilibrium, but we won't speak of Prometheus lol).

Θυμάμαι πρίν kάποιες μέρες ένα kάγkουρα που υπερηφανεύονταν για το ότι kόλλησε έρπη την kοπέλα του τον οποίο έρπη αυτός kόλλησε από πουτάνα. Γελάγανε λέει με τον kαγkουρα φίλο του που βλέπανε την kοπέλα (που το έπαιζε λέει kαθώς πρέπει) με τον έρπη στα χείλη.
