Go with UAC. More damage potential for barely any extra cost on Clan. My 3 IICs have 3 UAC5 2 ML, 2 PPC and 2 Gauss. Them high mounts make me wet.

Thought about making a PPC one, but was going to try TAG for team benefit, then also using the tracking myself. LRM are easy to defeat, but I liked the idea of being able to pressure behind cover.

LRMs are way too easy to counter, easy to evade, spread damage like nothing and is a ton of wasted ammo. PPCs are more effective on Clan mechs due to targeting comps and are more pinpoint damage. Lasers are better for midrange but the damage drops off way too quickly.
Once you start moving up in the tiers, LRM usage becomes rare. So taking TAG at all is useless as no one will have LRMs.

That's good to know. Right now I'm doing AC/ERMRL gimme build, but the ACs easily outrange the ERMRLs. LRLs worth it? Also, they're UACs, so I jam them like Elle, but the damage is worth it.

Clan XL on Clan always.
All Clan lasers are ER lasers. Benefits of being Clan. More glass cannon, but higher output and higher range. Large lasers are generally too heavy and mediuns do enough damage. 10s are a bit different to work with but 5s are more in line with the range. Your role is to support the push, so midrange is perfect.

I can range the 10s. I liked the 20s for output, but the range dropoff is prohibitive. It's just that the ERMRL doesn't line up with the AC10. I need a LRL range-wise, but it didn't seem doable with heat and tonnage on a Medium chassis. I'd almost rather take the AC20 if I have to keep the ERMRL because at least then I can double up.
