Bleach's Story

How would you have fixed Bleach if you were in Kubo's shoes? I think his problem was that he obviously bit more than he could chew and should've waited to repeat the Rescue arc (or get another idea)

Also make Fullbringer arc more reminiscent of the first arcs since it had a similar vibe to them

>Orihime, Chad, and Uryuu being important
>As well as his friends from school
>Just making his friends from school Fullbringers

Then make two more arcs after that. So the good can outweigh the Hueco Mundo/Fake Karakura town debacle

Though that's just story

have him draw more lewd lolis and base a entire arc around them

bump

UHHHH I WOULD MAKE ICHIGO TITFICK ORIHIME AT THE FIRST EPISODE DUH

-Don't introduce more characters than I have to
-Tighten up the pacing so it doesn't feel like a dreadful slog
-Don't introduce subplots that I can't think of a good resolution for

I'd make sure Ichigo ends single because fuck shipping

All fair points.

Shinigami and Schoolife arc > Tokyo Trip arc > Ghost hunting with Don Kanonji arc > Rukia getting chased by Soul Society arc > Urahara and Tessai reveal arc >Soul Society Arc > Espada Arc > Soul King Arc > Hell Arc

>How would you have fixed Bleach if you were in Kubo's shoes?
Yhwach succeeds in his plans, and makes every soul equal. This cures Yhwach's condition, but also makes the world a volatile place where no being can stand atop others and bring order.

The end is a gritty, desperate swordfight between the quincies and shinigami. Trump cards have changed from bankais and vollstandings to mere pocket sand, kicks to the nuts, two ganging up on one, and similar dirty tricks.

The (ex)shinigami win in the end, but must return to the human world to live as humans before the other realms crumble.

Nobody knows what awaits beyond death anymore.

Little Ishida was made for bullying.

That would've worked great honestly.

>cut the number of Fraccion by half
>remove the thousand year war arc

There, I fixed Bleach.

Kubo drawing Bleach porn.

At the Aizen saga, but with one episode explaining just what the soul king is. Kubo should just haved ended it there. Fans could have chosen what ever ship they saw (imagination), and he could have saved was else magic he had from Bleach, and saved his own career as a mangaka

-Ichigo doesn’t even know that rukia even achieved bankai. So much for the special ~blackmoonwhitesun~ bond. Those names weren't even used in canon actually.
-Kubo has rukia run straight to orihime instead of ichigo. Doesn’t even let them interact. She does nothing to help him out of his despair.
-Literally recycles the rukia giving ichigo back his powers FB scene, but with fucking tsukishima. He took one of the most beloved IR scenes and did that to it.
-No tagteam. Sends renji with him and the whole you were the one that brought up back together was obviously kubo telling us to get ready for renruki.
-The MOTS scan where orihime got love and friendship while rukia shared a page with renji(despite the fact that renji got his own scan a few months back) thats titled irreplaceable nakama.
-Has them interact twice this final arc. The hospital scene and the last chapter.
-Uraharas last words. The chapter is 666. Kubo was playing the devil himself when he baited the fuck out of IR fans.
-Last chapter is another nail on the coffin since they’re shown arguing over their parenting skills. ichigo/orihime are more protective(faeries follow kazui around, ichigo yelling at rukia to find her daughter) while rukia/renji are obviously more lax.
-Names the last chapter “death and strawberry” which is the most popular IR ship name. A chapter where ichigo and rukia are living in different worlds, happily married to other people, and started a family with their respective spouses.
-Gives the “death and strawberry” title to the renruki/ichihime kids.
-IRs convinced themselves that Japanese fans would be raging and burning their merch, but instead they were pretty comfy with it and all the complaining had to do with the missing characters.
-A whole article dedicated to Japanese fans mocking the Western fanbase for their tantrum. Calling them Ichiruk-ists.

Can't wait for the final volume to sell well so they can be BTFO again.

The finale ends up being the most happy illusion Aizen conjured for Ichigo, granting him a happy ending so that he doesn't suffer while Yhwach deletes fucking everything.

I kinda always wanted to see what Inoue, Chad, Urhara, Grimmjow and Nel were doing in Hueco Mundo.
I also wanted more of Ishida's build up to becoming the Quincy prince.
More of Ichigo and his team when they were reunited and going after Ishida/Yhwach.
Less shinigami. Always less of them.

>FIRST EPISODE
That's too early. After the Mexico arch. He should have titfucked her then. Fullbring would have been more bearable if Ichigo was getting laid.

The thing about the scrapped Hell Arc that really interests me is who would have served as the antagonists. Nobunaga the Demon King is pretty cliched, but he's the first guy I thought of.

It's not too late, they can be the main antagonists of a Kazooie sequel.

delete bleach.

>tfw sol spin-off literally never

Did Kubo ever really referred to Hell in the manga as if it was important?

In the parakeet arc.

It's literally not happening

And it hurts

I could do with some brief segments showing what various characters are doing now that there's no war to fight.

What did he mean by these?

>Kazooie
I've been wondering. Is this how his name is pronounced?

And yeah, I'd read a Kazui sequel. Shit, I'll read anything Kubo puts out. I don't know what that says about me.

I don't know what that says about you either, but I could get behind cute soul reapers doing cute things.

I wonder what her bankai would be

Her shikai was broken enough to defeat one of the strongest guys in the series

forgot pic

I think the same thing about Aizen.

Rare cases of Ichigo acting like a hetero man.

I think Ichigo denies his own libido in an attempt to be less like his father.

I believe it's pronounced ka-zwee.

Most of Bleach's problems can be laid at the feet of just having too many characters and taking too long to resolve anything.

Cut the vast majority of the introduced Shinigami out of the story, reduce the # of vizard/arrancar/espada.

Give the established cast shit to do with all the time you've saved cutting out all of the chaff from the cast. i.e. give Chad, Orihime, etc fights- maybe let them actually win, etc. Actually have them bond, have breather arcs to establish characters and explain backstories without having to do it in the middle of a fucking fight.

Hack the whole plot to the bone. Cut out every bit of extraneous horseshit and last second reveals. Explain the 1000-year war, Ichigo's mom being a Quincy, what Uryu's dad/grampa were up to back in the day, etc. earlier and more completely.

Cut the fullbringer arc completely. Fullbrings are retarded. Just make Chad and Orihime's powers oddities bestowed upon them by the hoagie because of their frustration at their lack of power to help Ichigo- that was a perfectly good and cool explanation.

Cut out goddamn near all of the Sternritter if you're not going to do much with them. Change how shrifts work if the whole alphabet not being there doesn't make sense.

Explain what... what the fuck is going on. Explain what the soul king's purpose was, why he's there, why the system works the way it is, why Aizen hates it, and why/what Ywach wants to do to change it. Maybe make it morally ambiguous so it's actually kinda conflicting internally to let the old system continue!

Also:
-Just get the bankais out of the way early since we have a smaller cast, don't write yourself into a corner with them.
-Actually avoid forgetting that some characters exist in the ending.

>Ichigo's bankai breaks
>he's taken to the Soul King's palace to get his blade reforged
>it's revealed that Ichigo when his powers were jump started by soul society, never actually revived Zangetsu
>instead it basically just flashed him into a fullbring cloak of a soul reaper
>based on the reiatsu memories of the badge
>which is why Haschwalt was so easily able to cut "Tensa Zangetsu" in half
>him learning of his heritage allows him to finally come face to face with Zangetsu
>whereupon he is able to finally become one with his blade
>whereupon he literally fuses with his own blade as he accepts that due to his ridiculous hybrid nature, every aspect of his powers is literally just him at various stages
>the hollow is his ruthless instinct to protect
>the old man is his rational mind guiding him
>and he himself is the source
>this means that he's the ONLY shinigami who is literally The Blade
>this is what allows him to ultimately hard counter The Almighty
>when the blade forging process is complete
>Ichigo puts his hands onto the white hot metal and pours in a piece of his soul
>the heat and reiatsu evaporates the sea
>we are left with the original Zangetsu
>and his bankai is the original bankai with the broken chain
>because even if he has accepted every bit of himself as one, the broken chain is a symbol of his disconnection from life
>Ichigo originally was a human
>he gained shinigami powers through Rukia
>Byakuya cut his soul sleep and the other thing
>he lost shinigami powers
>Urahara cut Ichigo's soul chain
>ICHIGO DIED FOR GOOD
>now his body is just a gigai for his soul

>all fights moving forward end more or less the same
>until the final fight with Ywach
>where when he goes bankai and Ywach breaks it, rather than dispairing, he instantly reforges a new blade using his quincy powers to manipulate the hollow in him to reforge a new blade and pour his shinigami powers back in to make it strong
>final fight ends = Ywach btfo
>Ichigo v Aizen commence

>this means that he's the ONLY shinigami who is literally The Blade

Huh. Wonder how he and pic related would get along.

It was so fucking dumb to have the long development where Ichigo realizes that Zangetsu is literally him split into various parts and the damning implications of that compared to all the other Shinigami that exists; and then have that completely invalidated by Ywach going "I broke your blade," and then Ichigo never firing back with "so what? The blade is me." Conjuring another one and kicking Ywach's ass.

If he was shagging her before the last arc, we probably wouldn't have gotten the cleavage dress because Urahara wouldn't be able to tease Ichigo with a girl he's seen naked dozens of times before. On one hand, it looks out of place on someone as innocent and oblivious as Orihime, but on the other hand, tits.

The big flaws have been covered in previous posts, so I'm just going to add minor details like Isshin finally meeting his old squad to the mix.

Kubo has been going based on "what's a surprising thing I can do?" for a long time, his problem is he never thinks too hard about it and just writes in the moment without regard for the consequences or complications.

Kick Vince Russo off the writing team.

Idiots answer - "Just have him end up with Rukia, that could fix everything"

Actual answer - "Go ahead and have the ending you have, but actually resolve all the plot points and damn well answer things in a decent manner so it feels like a complete story. Show what happened to everything, make sure there aren't a dozen threads hanging around that aren't answered, what the hell happened to this plot point, fucking answer all the small things and the ending you had for the manga honestly probably would have been fine. The problem isn't the ending itself, the problem is that the ending doesn't feel complete since you didn't answer shit"

Who knows because we don't know where Kubo was going. There were solid ideas, but too much meandering and we didn't get the "resolution" expected.

Which is unfortunate, because the Blade is Me was arguably one of the best hard counters to The Almighty without resorting to the silver arrow ex machina. Especially since it was previously established that Ichigo can forge a blade out of his own soul during the Zaraki fight

>original Zangetsu based on Rukia's hilt breaks under Zaraki's spiritual pressure
>Quincy powers use the hollow inside Ichigo to forge a new Zangetsu for Ichigo to use
>is able to cut Zaraki through his own insanely high spiritual pressure
>said Zangetsu goes on to wreck Byakuya when using Getsuga Tenshou
>goes on to injure Grimmjow
>goes on to cut down Grimmjow
>goes on to BTFO Ulquiorra at his strongest
>goes on to BTFO Aizen at his strongest, who had already BTFO'd all of Gotei 13 by himself

But NOPE. Honestly, that moment was probably the biggest waste of potential in ALL of Bleach. Because it even went on to personify that how Nimaiya made his blades using blank hollow asauchi was exactly how Ichigo inherently operated due to his soul being a combination of shinigami, quincy, and hollow. The perfect hybrid unity that is able to create a blade that out one's soul--a method to Nimaiya own.

I would remove everything and instead expand on the universe in this ED.

>Significantly less flashbacks.
>No recaps ever.
>Ichigo is a girl now.

Same way I'd improve Naruto, now that I think about it.

>fight hollows
>hollows are people
>fight fullbringer
>people are hollows
>fight shinigami
>swords are people
>werewolves
>dogs are shinigami
>fight arrancar
>swords are hollows
>fight visored
>shinigami are hollows
>don't fight quincy
>the quincy are dead
>fight god
>god is people
>become god
>people is god

Ichigo needs someone to vent out all his frustrations on,someone who isn't going to take his shit and press him where it hurts most, someone who knows him long enough and was always there for him.

Someone like pic related

Just make it YuYu Hakusho but with swords and none of the tourneys. Outside of that I'm fucked when it comes to ideas.

How can you not know how to pronounced it? It's Japanese, their phonetics are basically perfectly uniform:
>KA like "cod"
>ZU like "ism"
>I like "eat"
You just have to speak like you're actually talking words in a sentence and not try to breath inbetween each syllable and over enunciate every vowel like a retarded child trying to read aloud.

Way to shit up with thread with shipping shit when no one was talking about it fucking Ichihime faggot. Please burn in a fire.

>How would you have fixed Bleach if you were in Kubo's shoes?
>Devolves into Ichihime shipping bullshit
I wish we could get the mods to delete Bleach threads.

Don't bother coming here user, its futile to discuss anything other than shipping, just forget Bleach went beyond the SS arc.

What if we combine these two ideas? Some guys break out of Hell, hijack some gigais, and end up in Karakura Town, so they end up trying to hide their identities while dealing with the locals, including some weird kid who's way too powerful for his own good.

So ignoring who had what powers and all that bullshit, who had the best family?

I'm personally fond of the Shibas.

I just want to know how he originally planned to finish the final arc.

So many open ends.

Has it ever been confirmed that Isshin isn't Kukaku, Ganju and Kaien's father?

I mean, technically, no, but he seemed pretty young as a captain just 20 years off, and it's not clear where the upper limits on Kaien and Kukaku's ages were. Also the original Shiba kids introduced had a distinct land/sea/sky+birds motif going on with their names and Isshin doesn't even remotely fit that which was always a little suspicious

Isshin also never stuck to the whole eyelashes thing the shibas had going on. it was their most distinct feature as a family

still super mad we never even saw or heard from the other 2 royal families in soul society

Soul society is super weird

Like Shinigami in general. We're lead to believe that they're a different being from regular souls, then we find out any regular soul that gets a zanpakuto could become a shinigami.
On top of that, shinigami that are born? That completely defies the established soul cycle.

It's as if Kubo didn't think it through

Remember how in the first draft of Bleach there was a Eastern Soul Society and this heavily implied there was a Western Soul Society.

Wasted. After, Ichigo defeated Aizen he could've came to the west and checked out how the western world does it soul business and different breed of Hollows.

That ending. Wow, and I thought Naruto's ending was bad. Regardless of what ship you preferred, the ending was just awful. Dozens and dozens of unresolved plotlines. We don't even to get to find out what the fuck the Soul King actually is. The series was quite literally left unfinished.

I think the main problems were character and tone. Ichigo's particular character needed to be guarded better and focused on more, and the tone shouldn't have been allowed to get too serious too often. A lot of the early appeal was the style, which seemed pretty flippant, and that flippancy was unfortunately lost. I also think less focus on powerups and transformations would've been nice, as it has a tendency to get dull and characters are further undercut when they aren't allowed to be clever and instead always have to power up to win the day.

As far as story, I think it didn't need to go beyond Soul Society because rescuing Rukia from execution should basically have resolved the initial premise of Ichigo being a fill-in shinigami; after that Rukia should've been able to return to her duties and Ichigo could've returned to his normal life, story over. I guess that would've necessitated having Soul Society as the big final story arc to round out a year or two of shorter story arcs set in the real world, rather than it being just the first of several big story arcs, but I think it would've worked out better.

I think Kubo would've been much better utilized in that scenario as well, because then he could've started over with a fresh concept and done that for a year or two, etc etc. Would've kept him from getting in over his head and kept his enthusiasm high; the decade+ long mangos should be left to those who want to do them.

I guess I put myself more in the place of his editors. Eh.
